Making Time For Memories

"I'm too busy." "I don't look the way I want to look right now." "My children would never sit still for photos." "My spouse hates posing for photos." "Setting up a session is way too much work." Don't worry, I'm not talking about you... I'm talking about my own family. People often say to me, "I bet you take SO many pictures of your kids." I usually laugh and nod my head but secretly I know I don't take nearly enough photos of my children. "When would I have time for that amidst everyone else's photos?" "Taking pictures of your own kids is always a disaster."

But time was slipping by and I knew I was going to have to be more purposeful in documenting our little family. So I gave it a go! The beauty of this last "mini" session was that it was all done in less than 6 minutes flat! But the real miracle of these photos was that NO one was upset and I experienced almost ZERO stress. Tips I'm going to try and remember from these photos ... - I captured these when we were already dressed for another occasion. -Since we had somewhere to be (in this case church) it gave me a natural stopping point. - I didn't try to pose them. - I didn't tell them to smile. - I accepted whatever I got.

The only downside...we were 6 minutes late to church ;)
